Royal Development Centre Phu Fa

Phu Fa is a royal development project in Nan established on 11 February 1995, by her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The Netherlands Alumni Association which is under the Royal Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn supported the Phu Fa project for many years. On the 10th of February 2012, the association finally had the opportunity to visit “Pu Fah” and could experience the project with their own eyes.

Nan is located in the Northern part of Thailand and is about 680 kilometers from Bangkok. The association had the opportunity to see various developments in the rural area. The two districts that are under the developments are Bo Klua and Chalerm Phrakiat districts and carry out projects to improve the quality of education, healthcare, nutrition and creating new work opportunities for people in these two districts.

The NAAT group visited some locations to see Thai handicraft places where they made products out of rattan and bamboo, process of tea production and salt productions from ancient salt wells. The people living in this area have their distinctive culture and traditions, which is highly preserved and should be passed on for future generations.
